The window of „Holstentor“ had an arch, very thin.
I took snapshots of it, paid attention therein.
My school class visited that museum those days,
a black streaky ring-dove sat there as relict, anyway!
All visitors concentrated themselves on studies
of exhibits, on the compilation and expertises.
We were busy with the chronicle of the town in that spring,
the pupils didn’t take notice of the pigeon, still learning!
The ring-dove on her part seemed to be immersed
In the far-sightedness, delighted from the first.
“What may be so important this very moment?” I wanted to know.
It spends day-to-day in this altitude level, next to the stucco.

I was inspired by a photo of a pigeon I had taken in the museum “Holstentor” in Lübeck. The picture can be viewed on my website www.rafferty.claranet.de, (section: MY POEMS).
I added it to my poem HÖHENLAGE. *Smiles* ~ Sonja
