JUST SAY NO!

JUST SAY NO

Just say no,

to the thoughts that intrude,

to dissuade you...

from life,

just say no,

to the thoughts that say;

give up, you had enough...

stray,

From the mayhem of the mind,

differed words,

translucent meanings...

this I implore,

seek a new beginning,

just say no,

shout it

from your inner soul,

know,

that the morrow,

is worth the stay,

the venture,

will not dismay,

but you shall,

never know if you say,

yes,

to out the easy way,

for you must

fight the night

that impersonates

light,

you must say no,

to the wrongs that seem right,

to the dimness,

that guise as

bright,

yes,

it easy to flee,

but worth it to be,

a part of a unity,

comprised of we,

so,

just say no...

BUT…

if you do say

yes

to escape this

way,

you do not get

to point and say,

"because of you,"

for you have become…

THE DEPARTED FOOL

I take it as a compliment,

not an inditement,

that our love,

was a powerful ride,

but I knew when,

I had to get off,

I knew,

that I had to say,

enough was enough,

not to sound heartless,

but if you could not do the same,

The only thing I can say,

is tough,

so,

you don't get to say,

because of you,

all you could do,

is play the fool,

how dare you try

to contrive

this path to eternity,

that was you,

because I once called you boo,

you do not get to say because of you,

you only get to play the fool,

our love was a wreck,

It was a,

Three Mile Island,

surrounded,

by a turbulent sea,

It was,

the twin towers,

cresting,

the jagged skyline,

on that September day,

It was Pompeii,

whose populace was cast,

in hollowed-out clay,

yes,

a life in which I sort to

absolve,

and with your act,

you sought,

to castigate,

to relegate,

my feelings,

my heart,

my remaining years,

on guilt,

that you felt,

was mine to resolve,

No...

you do not get to

point and say,

because of you…

your only roll,

is that, of the

Departed fool.
