I am from a narrow valley, the mountains seem like walls
which give me a feeling of security and cosiness.
I am from a big house,
divided between my grandparents and my family.
I remember the stairs,
2 stairs to the cellar.
The old door leading from the cellar
to my grandparents' part of our house.
The telephone is on the ground floor,
in the huge, palace-like staircase.
2 big staircases leading to the second floor,
an “inn” run by my cousins.
Green curtains and noise.
Outside – the fruit trees and the big silver fir and the so sad looking “weeping birch”
where I often hid from the world outside.
Soccer in the garden,
“You are too soft, you need to be more aggressive to win!”
I hide behind the “weeping birch”
who is as sad as I am –
she understands me!
Family gatherings in our small living room and in the kitchen
too many people – too tight!
Nevertheless it is nice sitting together with the whole extended family.
I go to my bedroom –
up the stairs.
I have a look out of my window:
It's dark outside,
you can only see contours of our neighbour's apple trees.
After a long day of shouting and learning
I go to my bed, hug my toy dog Bello and cry myself to sleep.
