This Distance

They say distance
makes the heart grow fonder,
But I can't help but wonder
if this is the case with you. 

I miss you more than anything,
You make me feel so special,
At home, happy, 
So why is this summer schedule
so confusing?

Not a day passes
when I do not think about you, 
Now I just want this to be 
the case with you, too.

You said you think about me
all day,
You miss me, feel alone,
Can I just be there, or you here?

On the way to California,
Watching the sunset through my airplane window, 
I know I should be excited,
but I just think of how I miss you. 

Promise me this,
that while we do not see one another,
